A closer look.

The R-05 records WAV or MP3 files using its built-in stereo microphones or an external input. Before buying: use compatible SD or SDHC media up to 32GB. It takes two AA alkaline or NiMH batteries. The Japanese product page lists an SD card, USB cable, windscreen and two AA cells; confirm the seller’s accessories and condition for this discontinued recorder. USB-to-DC power cable UDC-25 is a separate option; check the supported USB power supply rather than assuming a mains adapter is included. USB file transfer uses mini-B; current computer operating-system compatibility must be checked separately. This is R-05, not R-07. The source photograph is a monochrome close-up and does not show the complete housing.
